Meta Description: Planning to buy the latest Fossil Smartwatch? Here is a detailed Fossil Smartwatch Review to help you make an informed decision.
Fossil smartwatches have made a name for themselves on the market. This brand is one of the traditional watch manufacturers that consistently launches smartwatches based on Google’s OS platform. Fossil Sport is one of the latest smartwatches that feature Qualcomm’s updated Snapdragon Wear 3100 processor.
This watch was manufactured a year ago. It is available in a variety of colors. The watch is swim-proof and offers heart-rate tracking feature as well. The watch comes with a built-in GPS feature. The new chip of Qualcomm makes it easier to live with. This smart watch does not have a new technology. Qualcomm launched this Snagdragon 3100 technology a year back.
Fossil Sport Design And Features
This smartwatch has a classic design with a round dial and three buttons on the right. The centre button can be used for scrolling menus or adjusting volume. It is possible to customize other two buttons to launch the apps you require repeatedly.
Fossil Sport is available in two sizes – 43 mm and 41 mm. Both are of the same price. The 41 mm Fossil Smartwatch has a smaller face and the straps are a bit narrow. The upper side of the watch is made of aluminium, while the lower part is made from nylon plastic.
The watch is quite light and the silicone strap is comfortable. It feels like a toy-like watch and does not give a premium feel. The watch comes with a 1.2 inch OLED display which looks sharp and the brightness is automatically adjusted. It is a low-weight watch to wear that feels quite smart. The watch has 4 GB of internal storage and packs in a lot of sensors like the accelerometer, ambient light sensor, altimeter, gyroscope and a heart-rate sensor. The phone also has a microphone for voice commands, but there is no speaker. It is compatible with Android and iOS smartphones as well.
Fossil Sport Performance And Battery Life
This smartwatch does not have a very impressive performance when it was tried with iPhone XR and Samsung Galaxy S10. The touch response is also good and it interacts with the menus and the settings quite smoothly. You need to wait for sometime before you launch the apps. The Play Store also takes some time to load, even if you have connected your watch to a fast Wi-Fi.
Google Assistant gets summoned in a second or two. The watch does get a bit unresponsive at some times and this forces you to get back to your home screen and then restart with whatever you were doing again.
This problem can get quite disappointing. The technical details of the Snapdragon Wear 3100 and 2100 have not changed much. It still uses the same CPU and GPU. It is built on the 28nm process. This watch offers basic functionality. The notifications are also easy to view. You get alerted about incoming calls with a small vibration. You can also control the music you are playing on your phone with the help of a smartwatch.
